Castings can be taken directly and safely from any part of the body. An alginate mould is the preferred moulding material , but the more expensive option of skin safe silicone is possible.
Resin enhanced plaster is the best medium for producing Body casts. The pure white is perfect to showcase the human form. However any castable medium is a possibility. Cold cast resin, a coloured plaster or stone effect resin are examples. A true bronze cast requires an intermediate wax stage, requiring either an initial silicone mould or a plaster cast and secondary mould.
Below are two examples of hand casting. However, anything is possible including torsos, pregnancy bumps or children’s hands and feet. Its just limited by your imagination.
